JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) South Africas total mining output dropped by 6,1% in November when compared with a year earlier, with gold production declining by 8,7%, official data showed on Thursday. Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) reported that nongold output dropped by about 5,7% in November.
PP Series Crushing and Screening Plants The total mining production for the three months ended November increased by 6,1%, compared with the previous three-month period. Stats SA attributed the increase to an estimated 9% rise in platinum-group metals (PGMs) output. However, on a year-on-year basis, total mining production for the three-month period ended decreased by 2,2 %.
Stats SA also reported that mineral sales for the three months ended October, reflected an increase of 0,7% compared with the previous three months. The estimated R534,2-million increase in sales could be largely attributed to an increase of R799,9-million
